General information

GD-3134D UHV cable sheath fault locator is an intelligent instrument with innovative features and high performance that integrates computer technology and digital signal processing technology. It is mainly used for the precise location of metal sheath grounding faults in underground power cables (especially single-core high-voltage cables), and can also be used for auxiliary location of core wire grounding faults (when the sheath has been damaged). The UHV cable sheath fault locator can measure the resistive current in the faulty cable in the wellbore through the current sensor and locate the cable fault point in sections. For cables laid on cable supports in large quantities in cable tunnels, the DC voltage can also be measured by high-voltage probes to determine the fault point.
The UHV cable sheath fault locator needs to be used in conjunction with the GD-2134L UHV cable sheath fault signal generator, which can provide high-voltage pulse signal source for the fault location of the UHV cable sheath, to complete the precise location of the UHV cable sheath grounding fault.

2.1) GD-3134D UHV cable sheath fault locator

  1. Step-voltage pinpointing mode: indicate the fault point directly and quickly find the fault point.
  2. Fault current pinpointing mode: Quickly find the fault point by measurement the resistance current in the fault cable.
  3. HV rod pinpointing mode: Measure the DC voltage in the fault cable to find the fault point.

2.2) GD-2134L UHV cable sheath fault signal generator
 
  1. Built-in high-voltage constant current source, the output voltage and current are continuously adjustable, allowing the output to operate in a long-term short circuit.
  2. It has multiple safety protection functions such as grounding lockout and high-voltage zero-position start.
  3. It can provide a signal source for the pinpointing of the fault on the sheath of the ultra-high voltage cable.
  4. The transmitter can be powered by mains electricity or a generator, and the sensor and receiver can be powered by dry batteries.
