Product Description

GD-4134E Cable Identifier is a path detection instrument with strong comprehensive performance. It has multiple functions such as pipeline path detection, cable identification, pipeline grounding fault detection etc. The instrument consists of a transmitter, a transmitting current clamp, a receiver, a receiving flexible current clamp, a connecting test line, a stethoscope, an A-frame (optional), and RTK (optional).
 

Features

  1. Multiple detection modes: classic positioning mode, wire cruise mode, signal curve mode.
  2. Classic positioning mode: compass, direction and signal amplitude display, intuitive display of the left and right directions of the pipeline.
  3. Wire cruise mode: 360°all-round pipeline path indication, continuous display of depth, current and relative position of pipeline. The interface is simple and intuitive, and can be operated without experience.
  4. Signal curve mode: can display historical signal strength curves, and find the cable location by observing the changes in signal strength curves at different locations.
  5. Current direction determination (partial frequency), by calibrating the current direction, eliminating interference from adjacent lines and preventing tracking errors.
  6. Built-in sweep frequency test function, users can select the appropriate signal frequency for pipeline measurement through the sweep frequency results to avoid co-frequency interference.
  7. Fully digital high-precision sampling and processing: stable and reliable, ultra-high sensitivity, extremely narrow receiving passband, strong anti-interference ability, and can fully suppress the power frequency and harmonic interference of adjacent running cables and pipelines.
  8. Ground fault search (optional function): The transmitter transmits the positioning signal to the faulty cable. The A-frame (optional accessory) can be used to locate the ground fault location point of the pipeline, and the arrow indicates the positioning direction.
  9. Multiple detection frequencies: 12 active detection frequencies and 4 passive detection frequencies.
  10. Multiple signal output modes of the transmitter: direct connection output, clamp coupling output, radiation induction.

Cable identification: It is designed to solve the technical problems of cable identification for power cable engineers and cable workers. It can be used to identify live cables and power-off cables. Users can accurately identify a target cable from multiple cables through the instrument to avoid serious accidents caused by mistaken sawing of live cables. When identifying cables, 10 cables can be pre-calibrated at the transmitter end, and then received and identified at the remote end, which greatly saves the time of engineers for round-trip calibration operations and improves work efficiency. Cable identification is successful and marked with √, and non-target cables are marked with ×, which can quickly and automatically identify the target cable. This function is realized by the cooperation of the signal transmitter, receiver, signal transmission clamp, connecting test line, flexible clamp and stethoscope. The stethoscope can be used when it is inconvenient to use the clamp.

Signal transmitter: used for pipeline path detection, cable identification and insulation resistance testing. The device can add identification signals to the target cable through direct output, caliper coupling, induction method, etc. The signal has 12 different pulse signals of 577Hz, 640Hz, 1280Hz, 2.56kHz, 3.20kHz, 4.09kHz, 8.19kHz, 10kHz, 33kHz, 66kHz, 82kHz and 201kHz to choose from. The maximum signal output power is 10W, and 10 gears are adjustable to adapt to different application environments, making pipeline detection and cable identification more accurate and reliable. The instrument has a built-in high-power rechargeable lithium battery, automatic impedance matching, and full-automatic protection. The transmitter adopts an integrated special tool box design, and its box can withstand a pressure of about 200kg. The host has a 5.4-inch color LCD display, which dynamically displays the signal output status and battery usage in real time.

Transmitter clamp: suitable for clamp coupling method. The transmitter clamp couples the signal emitted by the transmitter to the target cable. The jaw size is Φ150mm. The transmitter clamp is directional, and the transmission signal flows in from the direction indicated by the arrow on the transmitter clamp.

Receiver: used for pipeline path detection, cable identification and ground resistance testing. It has multiple built-in shielded 3D antennas, which can effectively identify 12 different pulse coded current signals of 577Hz, 640Hz, 1280Hz, 2.56kHz, 3.20kHz, 4.09kHz, 8.19kHz, 10kHz, 33kHz, 66kHz, 82kHz and 201kHz generated by the transmitter. It can also identify 50Hz and 250Hz power frequency signals and RF signals with center frequencies of 33kHz and 82kHz. Using a 3.5-inch color LCD screen, it can dynamically display 360° all-round pipeline path indication, depth, current and relative position of pipelines in real time.
A-frame (optional): A-shaped voltage signal sensor specially used for locating ground faults in direct buried cables. The two probes or coils of the A-frame can accurately receive the step voltage signal emitted by the transmitter. After transmitting it to the receiver for data analysis, the cable ground fault point can be accurately located. The probes or coils are designed to be independently interchangeable. The probes are suitable for muddy ground, and the coils are suitable for cement roads that cannot be directly inserted into the ground. The A-frame lead-out line is designed with an aviation socket, which is connected to the receiver with an aviation plug cable. It can be disassembled at will and is compatible with an independently designed handle, so that the A-frame can work independently of other functions.

Flexible current clamp: used for cable identification. This current clamp is a Rogowski coil with excellent transient tracking ability. It can quickly identify the pulse width frequency signal generated by the transmitter and is suitable for thick cables or irregularly shaped conductors. The inner diameter of the jaws is about 200mm, and it can clamp cables below Φ200mm. It is not necessary to disconnect the measured line. Non-contact measurement is safe and fast.
Stethoscope: used for cable identification. Similar to the shape of a mouse, it can quickly sense and identify the current signal in the transmitter or cable. The arc sensor design fully fits the cable surface. With the transmitter and receiver of this product, it can realize most of the functions of the flexible current clamp and can replace the flexible current clamp for cable identification in most occasions. When using it, just keep the stethoscope close to the cable to be tested along the direction of the cable. It is suitable for occasions where it is inconvenient to use a flexible current clamp for testing.

Special reminder: When identifying power-off cables: it is strictly forbidden to connect to live cables. Live cable identification is only applicable to three-core armored cables. When identifying, the transmitting clamp and the receiving clamp cannot be mixed, and the direction of the input signal must be consistent.

Interference Distance When using the coupling method and the induction method, the transmitter will generate interference within a short distance. The interference distance is related to the transmission power and frequency. The greater the power and the higher the frequency, the stronger the interference.
The minimum distance at which the receiver is not interfered by the transmitter often needs to be determined by experiment:
Pipeline detection: 5m away for the coupling method and 20m away for the induction method can be confirmed as no interference
Cable identification: 2~5m away for the coupling method can be confirmed as no interference
