Genral Information 

GDEB-5 5kV Digital Electric Bridge Cable Fault Tester Digital high voltage electric bridge (hereinafter referred to as 5kV digital electric bridge) is designed based on MURRAY electric bridge principle. It is suitable to locate breakdown point of various power lines and cables after being laid, as well as insulation flaws where there is no breakdown, but insulation resistance value is quite low. Besides, it can also be used to locate defects of various lines and cables for cable factory.

The equipment uses an electric voltage regulator and an R-type transformer to form a high-voltage constant current source, and the button operation increases and decreases the voltage. The measuring cable is a specially designed double-core high-voltage rubber cable. The four-terminal resistance measurement method avoids the error introduced by the lead resistance. It is light weight, convenient operation, and safe use.

Compared with wave reflection method, the bridge balance method has no blind area, which is especially suitable for judging short cables and the breakdown point near the end.

 

Application 

Location of high impedance breakdown point after the cable is laid, especially for linear high impedance breakdown point at the intermediate joint of cable.
 
Location of flash-over breakdown point. After breakdown, arc is sustained by constant current power source. Stable current goes through electric bridge. Electric bridge has good sensitivity.
 
Location of defect where there is no breakdown under running voltage, but impedance value is low.
